CBSE releases Class 12 supplementary admit cards for 2026 board exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the admit cards for the Class 12 supplementary examinations 2026. Students who are appearing for the supplementary exams can now access their hall tickets through the designated online portals. The supplementary examinations are scheduled to begin on July 28, giving students another opportunity to improve their results or clear subjects they were unable to pass in the regular board examinations.

The release of admit cards is an important step for students preparing for the upcoming examinations. CBSE has also issued several instructions regarding downloading hall tickets, examination guidelines and important rules that candidates must follow on exam day.

The board has made separate arrangements for regular students and private candidates to access their admit cards. Students are advised to download their hall tickets well before the examination date and carefully verify all the details mentioned on them.

How students can download admit cards

CBSE has provided different methods for regular and private candidates to obtain their supplementary examination admit cards.

For regular students, admit cards are available through the Pariksha Sangam portal. Schools are responsible for downloading the hall tickets and distributing them to their students. According to CBSE guidelines, schools must ensure that each admit card is properly signed and stamped by the school principal before it is handed over to the candidate.

To download admit cards for regular students, schools need to log in to the Pariksha Sangam portal using their official credentials. Once logged in, they can access the admit card section, download the hall tickets for individual students and provide them to the concerned candidates.

The process is designed to ensure that all admit cards are authenticated before reaching students.

Private candidates, on the other hand, can directly download their admit cards from the dedicated CBSE supplementary examination portal. They need to enter the required credentials, such as their application details, to access the hall ticket.

After downloading the admit card, private candidates must get it signed and stamped. This can be done either by the principal of the school they last attended or by the superintendent of their examination centre. Candidates are advised not to wait until the last moment to complete this process.

Students should carefully check all information printed on the admit card, including their name, roll number, examination centre details, subject codes and examination timings. In case of any discrepancy, they should immediately contact their school or the concerned CBSE authorities for correction.

The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall. Without a valid hall ticket, candidates may not be allowed to appear for the examination.

Important exam day instructions

Along with the release of admit cards, CBSE has reminded students about several important rules and guidelines that must be followed during the supplementary examinations.

One of the most important instructions relates to electronic devices. Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices and any other communication gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination centre. CBSE has warned that strict action will be taken against any candidate found carrying or using such devices during the examination.

Students are therefore advised to leave all electronic gadgets at home or make suitable arrangements before entering the examination centre.

The board has also informed candidates that they will receive 15 minutes of reading time before the examination begins. This additional time allows students to read the question paper carefully, understand the instructions and plan their answers before writing starts.

Candidates should reach the examination centre well in advance to avoid unnecessary stress and delays. Late arrival may cause inconvenience and could affect a student's ability to complete all formalities before the examination begins.

Parents have also been advised to regularly check the CBSE website and stay in touch with schools to remain informed about any updates or instructions issued by the board. This helps ensure that students receive accurate information and can prepare accordingly.

Students should read all instructions mentioned on the admit card carefully and follow them throughout the examination process. Following examination rules not only helps maintain discipline but also prevents unnecessary complications.

The supplementary examination serves as an important opportunity for students who wish to improve their academic performance. For some candidates, it provides a second chance to clear a subject and continue their higher education plans without losing a year.

Earlier this year, CBSE announced the Class 12 board examination results on May 13. The overall pass percentage reached 85.20 per cent, reflecting the performance of students across the country. The board also reported that nearly all candidates who applied for verification of marks received updated results after the re-evaluation process.

For students appearing in the supplementary examination, understanding the passing criteria is equally important. According to CBSE rules, candidates must secure at least 33 per cent marks to pass. This requirement applies both subject-wise and in aggregate.

Students must also achieve the minimum passing marks separately in theory and practical examinations wherever applicable. Simply meeting the overall aggregate requirement may not be sufficient if a student fails to achieve the minimum marks in a specific component of the examination.

As the July 28 examination date approaches, students are encouraged to focus on revision, manage their time effectively and avoid unnecessary anxiety. The supplementary examination is an opportunity to improve performance and move forward academically with confidence.
